DEPARTMENT OF BASIC SCIENCE

On 12th September, 2014, Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor, CAU, Imphal constituted 04 member Expert Committee under the chairmanship of late Dr. D. P. Ray, Ex-Vice-Chancellor, Odisha University of Agric. & Tech. for preparation of DPR of College of Horticulture, Bermiok, South Sikkim.

Courses Offered

The Department of Basic Science was established according to Academic Council of Central Agricultural University along with 7 other departments of the College of Horticulture, Bermiok, Sikkim. It is a multi-disciplinary department with disciplines like Genetics and Plant Breeding, Plant Biotechnology, Plant Biochemistry. Plant Physiology, Agricultural Microbiology and Agricultural statistics. The department is taking role in nurturing the young minds of horticulture with the concept and techniques of the disciplines of Basic Sciences. Presently, the department offers courses of different disciplines as mentioned above for meeting the degree of B.Sc. (Hons.) Horticulture.
