Department Overview
Considering the very bright prospects of floriculture in the state, the Department of Floriculture and Landscape Architecture has taken the lead in collecting a rich germplasm of orchids, anthuriums, and gladioli.
Sikkim is considered a paradise of floristic wealth, and in the state, apart from cultivated ornamental plants, a good number of wild ornamental plants with amazing beauty need to be patronized. Accordingly, the Department has developed a repository of wild ornamental plants at the college. Additionally, the department has a polyhouse with a rich collection of different types of succulents. Currently, the Department is headed by Dr. Dipika Sarmah, Assistant Professor, as the In-Charge Head.
